Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family with volunteering in the community. In the first place, he was born with Lucious and Jessie Selmon on the farm close to Eufala within Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. The second football was that Selmon is the youngest of three brothers who played with Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy was named the most offensive lineman in the country by Outland and Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as the team's starter, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and won two national championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975, and was named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon was awarded a degree from Education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteering for ten hours per week during his time at college. He settled down in Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and played three times in the all-pro league. His career in business began. By 1988 he had become an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that The Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the 10 most notable young men in the country. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 lbs in the time he played football at college. In 1975, he was on the team. group. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as assistant director of sports. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave an award of the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
